Nampa is the largest city of Canyon County, Idaho. Its population as of 2010 census is 81,557, the third most populous city in Idaho. Located 20 miles west of Boise along Interstate 84 and six miles west of Meridian. The word "Nampa" came from a Shoshoni word meaning "moccasin or footprint".

The life of Nampa begins in the year 1883, when the Oregon Short Line Railway made its way from Ganger, Wyoming to Huntington, Oregon. Towns sprung up about every 10 to 15 miles along the tracks, Nampa is one of them. April 17, 1981 a municipal government was formed and the Town of Nampa was incorporated.
